This is a sterling silver solitaire ring set with a deep red oval lab created ruby (resembles the highly valued "pigeon blood" rubies). I have these beautiful stones cut specially for the shop. They are mixed brilliant cut like most natural rubies. The ring has double prongs and is lower profile.

Lab rubies are identical in every way to natural rubies, except they were not mined from the earth. This stone has a Moh's hardness of 9, just as earth mined rubies.

This setting was made using deox sterling silver, a special sterling that uses alloys which are more tarnish resistant. Please note that more humid climates may cause any sterling to tarnish more quickly.

This item is made with nickel‑free de‑ox sterling silver, which is formulated to be more resistant to tarnish. De-ox sterling is a modern .925 sterling alloy that incorporates germanium for improved tarnish resistance. It offers the same beauty and weight of traditional sterling with longer‑lasting shine and easier care. All sterling silver can tarnish naturally over time, and factors like moisture, chemicals, or individual skin chemistry may cause it to occur more quickly.
