These sterling silver stud earrings are set with 5mm round, natural, rare Contra Luz precious opals. The opals have a whitish gold base with good fire and color play in certain lighting situations.

Natural, untreated, Contra Luz opals from Magdalena, Jalisco, Mexico
Moh's scale of hardness: 5-6.5
Weight: 0.73 carats total
These sterling settings were made using deox sterling silver, a special sterling that uses alloys which are more tarnish resistant. Please note that more humid climates may cause any sterling to tarnish more quickly.
